Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026 · Version 1.4
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies AECO uses. The short version: we use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and nothing for analytics or advertising.
1. What cookies we use
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
session |
Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in after you log in. It carries only a random token (we store just a hashed form of
it) and is marked Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Lax, which also
helps protect against cross-site request forgery. |
Up to 30 days of inactivity, then it expires |
This cookie is essential: without it you cannot stay logged in, so it is always on when you use the app. It is set only after you sign in — not when you simply visit the public website.
2. Local storage (not a cookie)
The app saves a small amount of data in your device’s local storage so the time clock keeps working when there is no signal — for example, a time punch made offline and the on/off state of auto clock-in. This stays on your device, is not sent to advertisers, and is not a cookie.
3. What we do not use
AECO sets no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party tracking cookies, and does not sell or share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. When you view the live crew map, map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap, which sees the viewer’s IP address to deliver the images; that is a normal web request, not a tracking cookie.
We do not track you over time or across other websites, and no third party does so through AECO. Because there is nothing to turn off, a browser’s “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal is treated as already honored.
4. Your consent & the notice banner
Because we use only a strictly necessary cookie, which is exempt from prior-consent requirements under laws such as the EU/UK ePrivacy rules, the banner you see on our site is an informational notice rather than an opt-in choice — there are no optional cookies to accept or reject. If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting them.
5. How to manage cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie, you will not be able to stay signed in to AECO. Logging out, changing your password, or an owner’s reset also ends the session everywhere at once.
6. Changes
We will update this policy if our use of cookies changes, and we will change the “Last updated” date above. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information generally.
